Kuwait Soldiers and Airmen 2022
Virtual 5K  Freedom Fest

Traditional On-Site Freedom Run (5K or 10K)  

This is a traditional 5K/10K Freedom Run/Walk or Stroll into the beautiful Flint Hills, starting and ending at the Emporia All Veterans Memorial.

This route will be completely on gravel, weather permitting!

Virtual Run: Pick Your Route and Time!  (5K or 10K) 

Between 11 September and the 11th of November choose your 5K or 10K Route and when you will run!

​

All finishers will receive the awesome Freedom Fest T-shirt, edible medal, challenge coin and of course a chance to win one of our eight custom trophies or Emporia Main Street Gift Certificates. SWAG Gift bags will be delivered after 4 November.

 

One special request:

If possible please pick a route that starts, finishes or passes your local Veterans Memorial, Park or Monument.

When complete:

All done?  Here's your next step:

1. Send a screen shot (if you have one) of your time and route

2. Send a picture of you after your route and feel free to have sign/poster or item celebrating a Veteran or the military.  Send all info, pics and items to emporiafreedomfest@gmail.com

3.  If local please come in and pick up your SWAG bag starting 4 NOV or if out of town we e will send you your SWAG BAG (gift items and shirt) as well as post your Hero information and run completion on our Facebook Event page and the web site.

4.  Post your pics and Freedom Fest adventure on your social media page(s) and don't forget the hashtag:  #emporiafreedomfest

Parking/Facilities

Parking is pretty limited in this area.  There are 25 stalls at Soden's Grove Park and Zoo.  Overflow parking is at Hetlingers North of the All Veterans Memorial (walk to park is about 5 minutes)

​

At Soden's Grove we will have open the bathroom facilities and porta-johns at the All Veterans Memorial.

Age Categories and Awards

We have five age groups for the 5K and 10K run.

  • Top three male/female overall will receive custom trophies. 

  • We will have gift certificates for top three male/female in each age category.

  • Age categories:

    • 12 and under​

    • 13-19

    • 20-29 

    • 30-39 

    • 40-49 

    • 50-59

    • 60 and over

Running in honor of a Veteran? 
 

Let us help you Recognize that Veteran! When you register make sure you provide your Veteran's name.  Also, we would love to hear your Veterans story. Please send a picture, name, rank and branch, a brief description of their service to:  emporiafreedomfest@gmail.com   

 

We will post your picture and writeup in the Hero's photo gallery as well as have their name on the sign in our walk of honor at the Freedom Fest Expo.
